Designed by cyclists for cyclists...

When was the last time you cycled the beautiful, low traffic, roads of Washington County? The Cumberland Valley Century provides the perfect opportunity to experience the history and charm of this lovely valley. This ride also benefits San Mar Childrens Home.

25, 64 and 103 mile routes take in some of the most fabulous scenery in the area. The metric and century routes visit the C&O Canal National Historic Park and the Antietam National Battlefield.

Scenic new routes loop riders through the central start/finish at San Mar. Eat lunch when you want or shorten your mileage. Other well-stocked rest stops are provided along the routes.

All routes are clearly marked and color coded.

Terrain: The ride rolls through the lovely Cumberland valley past farmscapes on low traffic roads. The majority of the ride is rolling with several short, steep "challenges" and a few longer uphill grades.

Easy to follow cue sheets that were designed by experienced cyclists who live and ride in Washington County everyday and have picked the very best roads.

There will be periodic route sweeps to aid cyclists.

  Support closes at 5:00 PM.

In order to keep our small-town feel we are limiting the event to 1000 riders, so register early!

Register before 8 am on 8/3/13 and save $5 per person; after this time, the event price goes up to the same day price of $40.

On the day of the event on–site registration for the Century and Metric century is $40 and $35 for the Quarter century. Registration is from 7—9 am.

Here are links to the Metric and Century routes. From these links you can see a map of the route, elevation profiles and generate Garmin files. The route backtracks or crosses itself in several places so please be aware that your Garmin could get confused in spots. The true elevation gain may be as much as 1,000 feet greater than represented in these links. When using the tool, make sure to mark the option in the lower right corner to "Imperial" so that you see your data in miles rather than meters.
